Serious metal pollution problem

The spot check found that children's wooden cabinets had the lowest pass rate of only 59.5%. The total amount of formaldehyde released from the three batches of products exceeded the standard requirements, and two batches of products exceeded the standard. The heavy metals in furniture mainly include lead, cadmium, chromium, etc., which are harmful to the human body, especially children and adolescents. The 301 model children's bedside table produced by a certain furniture company in Shenzhen has a measured value of 3560 mg/kg of soluble lead, which is nearly 40 times higher than the standard requirement. The measured value of soluble chromium is 772 mg/kg, which is nearly 13 times higher than the standard requirement.

The quality inspection department said that 53 unqualified companies have been ordered to carry out rectification. At present, a total of 131 unqualified products have been recalled. The 11 products that have been found to have safety hazards and unqualified toxic and harmful indicators have been transferred to the inspection department for investigation and investigation.

Children's house becomes the hardest hit area

Shenzhen reporter learned from the Shenzhen Institute of Building Science that in the 74 houses tested in the hospital, the total rate of formaldehyde and volatile organic compounds (TVOC) exceeded 60%, and the rate of benzene exceeded 18%, which did not meet the national standards. The survey also showed that the pollution of the bedroom, children's room and study room was more serious.
