Guidelines for modern packaging design

The world market is replacing regional markets, and the internationalization of the market has caused the entire packaging industry to face global competition. The modern packaging industry turns to the buyer's market and presents the following features:
(1) Demand for variety and color of packages clearly shows diverse features.
(2) Unprecedented economic development, the packaging industry market has shifted to the buyer's market. The society requires a market-oriented design in which the packaging design is in line with the market in terms of quality, variety, color, and reliability of user needs.
(3) Realize the combination of packaging design and marketing, promote user participation, and cooperate with users.
The competition in the world packaging market is unprecedentedly fierce. This is in fact a contest between marketing strategies and strengths of enterprises and countries. Only organic combination of advanced design concepts, human factors and information, knowledge and technology can win the competition and promote the prosperity of the packaging industry.
1. The Role of People in Packaging Design The significance of packaging and decorating goods lies in using the media to attract consumers' attention so as to expand and accelerate sales. The design of the rich artistic talent is both a science and an art.
The information and knowledge features in packaging design are increasingly valued. Knowledge is processed information. The infusion of knowledge information in packaging design rejuvenates the product.
Before using the computer, the entire packaging design process was mainly performed by people. In the past 40 years, as the storage, processing, and delivery of information and symbolic knowledge, computers have been continuously expanded in design and application, enabling people's physical strength and some intellectual activities to be replaced by tools in the packaging design process. In the design system, people are moving from direct practical skills to software development. But it needs to be emphasized that at least in the following two aspects, the role of human beings is difficult to replace by computers:
(1) Non-symbolic reasoning, assessment and decision-making capabilities.
(2) Action intelligence composed of perceptions and action sequences, that is, skills.
The main features of people engaged in packaging design are:
(1) There is a rich sense.
(2) Use intelligence to plan, identify, reason, and make decisions.
(3) Execute the terminal with multiple degrees of freedom and dexterity.
Therefore, in the modern design, the human role is not only important, but also becomes more critical in the processing and production of information and knowledge.
2. The use of CAID in packaging design
CAID has such advantages: (1) Excellent shape. Shape is the foundation of plastic arts. CAID can use three-dimensional software, realistic solid modeling technology, construct, display and output vivid and realistic images. In the design, we can well implement aesthetic rules such as proportion scale, change unification, contrast harmony, etc. The color decoration follows the human aesthetic scale and realizes form and excellence. (2) color beauty. CAID generates rich colors through color processing, material editing, light source formation, and natural phenomena and shadow processing to form infinite colors and realize the beauty of design. (3) Good quality. Computers use maps, coloring and other techniques to simulate a wide variety of textures and textures. (4) pleasant. The packaging designer can use CAID like a point and shoot camera to simulate and generate and dynamically display many models, simulate the influence of environmental factors such as sound, light and color on people, and construct the most agreeable solutions. (5) High speed. Using CAID as a design is very efficient, and most of the work can be done by computer. The system interface is friendly and easy to operate. With a little “training”, the designer can operate the computer with ease and design. (6) Animation. With the three-dimensional animation software system, dynamic simulation can be displayed, and the scene is vivid and charming.
Using CAID to complete the packaging design will be a trend. At present, the most commonly used software is AutoCAD, 3DS, Photoshop, etc., and is developing new software packages to build a better user interface.
3. Positioning Criteria for Nationalization of Packaging Design The formation and development of national styles are mostly based on fashion. The nationalization of packaging design means the choice of the times. The development of modern science and technology has broken through the formal pattern of ethnic and regional culture and arts. Nationalization can be said to be a fusion of the national and foreign ethnic cultures. The national form can only be based on the sense of the times, and the nationalized packaging design can only survive if it depends on the quality of the goods.
Products do not have borders, but the packaging and decoration of goods must emphasize design and positioning principles. For example, some product packaging is to protect the goods as the first goal; some of the product packaging is to emphasize the corporate image as the highest criteria; but most of the goods are required to accurately convey the product's internal information. As a result, customers have asked designers more actively to promote the packaging and decoration of sales. Consumers' purchasing consciousness and life consciousness are diverse and changeable. For consumers to like and accept, they can be preserved and developed. Otherwise, they are eliminated. The deciding factor is the texture price of the commodity. Any good and reasonable decoration design with artistic power, if the quality of the product itself is not guaranteed, it will eventually escape the fate of being eliminated. The decoration of Chinese Moutai “earth” is precisely the texture of this wine, which makes this “earth” also has a special meaning. The special taste of the "Coca Cola" in the United States has made its decoration a mark of the nationalized commodity in the United States.
