China's national culture and education have experienced rapid improvement over recent years. Date: October 27, 2014, 17:20. This study primarily employs econometric prediction analysis software Eviews 5.0 and sociological statistical analysis software SPSS 13.0 to conduct data analysis. The methodology involves three key steps: first, performing a unit root test on panel data to check for stability and avoid spurious regression issues; second, conducting a cointegration test to examine the long-term equilibrium relationship between cultural education levels, national income, and the development of the sports goods manufacturing industry; finally, using dynamic ordinary least squares (DOLS) to estimate the cointegration model and reveal the dynamic interactions among these variables.
The selection of variables is crucial in this research. Cultural education level is an essential indicator reflecting the overall quality of the population, while national income reflects residents' quality of life. Both factors significantly influence sports consumption. In academic circles, the number of university students is commonly used as a proxy for cultural education, and per capita GDP serves as a measure of national income. To account for regional differences in history, culture, natural resources, economic development, and industrial structure, the study divides China into seven major regions, allowing for a more detailed and comprehensive analysis. These disparities are particularly evident in the educational and income levels across eastern, central, and western regions, which also affect the scale of the sports goods manufacturing industry.
The proportion of college graduates has shown significant growth. Between 2003 and 2009, it increased by 392.20%, with a volatile rise from 2005 to 2007, followed by steady growth afterward. Central China saw the second-highest increase, at 532.85% over seven years, maintaining a relatively fast growth rate similar to that of East China. North China, Northeast China, South China, Southwest China, and Northwest China follow in order, all showing stable growth. Overall, the total number of college graduates nationwide rose by 394.01%, indicating a remarkable improvement in the cultural education level of Chinese citizens.
