The quality of book printing seems to be a problem for printing companies. Actually, publishers have a greater responsibility for improving the quality of book printing. They should be the main body of book printing quality management. Therefore, in addition to the prepress production of books, It is necessary to carry out strict supervision and management of books printed by printing companies.

Zhang Qinglian, head of the printing quality inspection station in Beijing, said: “The two issues that are most concerned between the printing house and the publishing house are the price of work and the duration of the project. These two factors directly affect the quality of book printing.” If the publisher's wages are very low, in order to minimize the cost of investment, some printing companies will think of ways to process and materials, such as the use of renewable PS version instead of the new version of the plate, with ordinary ink instead of high-grade ink to print, The use of inferior and hot melt adhesives instead of high quality hot melt adhesives to bind the book results in the quality of the book being not guaranteed. As the saying goes, "work slowly and carefully," and sometimes the publisher's products must be compressed very tightly and significantly, and the production cycle can not meet the necessary process requirements, and will inevitably cause some of the book quality defects. Many printers have experienced such feelings in the actual operation of the company.

Publisher quality first person in charge

The printing industry calls for publishers to put quality concepts into action:

First, consider the printing process before posting. In recent years, due to the design of publishing units, the quality of printing has become more and more serious. Zhang Qinglian said, “Now more and more hardcover books are being published, but some special issues in hardcover books are worth noting, such as the wide range of book widths, book shells, and excessive standards, which affect the quality of books.” . Liu Benqi, deputy director of the army's printing quality inspection station, also said, "Now, some children's books pay much attention to the design and use of paper, and ignore the quality of printing. If there is still a poor consistency in the color of adjacent pages, there is no consistency in the printing. The thicker pages of the cable are easily pulled apart, and the die-cut marks and images are not aligned and the die-cut depth is not in place, resulting in the phenomenon that the icons cannot be torn open. Therefore, the publishing house must consider the printing process when designing.

Second, we must follow the quality of the press release. Publishers responsible for printing should go deep into the print shop floor. Examine the printed books to understand the progress of the printing of the books printed on the decals, and find quality problems in time so that measures can be taken to improve and remedy them. If the design of the framing provided by the publishing house affects the quality of the print, it should be adjusted in time.

Thirdly, people in the printing industry believe that when quality problems are discovered, “the board should not only hit the printing companies”, it is necessary to sum up experience and find the root cause of the same topic. As mentioned earlier, the issue of wages and duration are all direct factors that affect the quality of printing. Distinguishing responsibility can prevent similar problems from recurring.

The quality of the printing factory is the basis for its survival

The quality of printing is related to the survival and development of printing companies. In particular, the competition in the printing industry is very fierce. The competition in the printing market is the competition in printing quality. Printing companies must establish the idea that printing quality is the foundation of survival—this is the consensus of the printing industry. They think that as a company, first of all, it is necessary to strengthen their sense of responsibility. The emergence of print quality problems, some of which are responsible issues, some of which are the grasp of quality standards, some are out of control of the quality management process. Zhang Qinglian said: "The reasons for the current unqualified printing are mostly not technical issues, but rather problems of responsibility, so long as workers can avoid it seriously." Such as a large area of ​​dirt, bad pages folded into the book, sticky problems and so on.

Second, strict implementation of process operations. The quality of printing products is really dried up. We must strictly abide by the rules and regulations of the process, and all processes must be strictly controlled. To start from the first process, plate making should be accurate, clear, and reliable. Before printing, it is necessary to strictly control the imposition and printing, and to inspect the equipment and auxiliary materials. When printing, pay attention to equipment pressure and ink balance. Under normal circumstances, the pressure is too large, the printing network is expanded, it is easy to bring dirty, the pressure is too small, the network points are lost, and not printed. If the water is big, the text is pale and unclear. If the water is small, the paste is dirty. The key is to adjust the elasticity of the rubber roller. After printing, it is necessary to clean up the ink in time, clean the eraser, take down the printing plate, and repair the equipment. When stapling, we must strictly follow the process requirements.

Third, strict implementation of quality management standards. At present, the press and publication industry has issued 69 types of printing standards. Many printing companies have set their own process standards and management standards, and their standards are higher than industry standards. Industry sources pointed out that, from the actual production results, although many printing companies have their own standards, they are rarely implemented or are not implemented in the whole process. They often rely on experience and lack of data-based control and inspection. Many standards cannot be grasped. Management is in a form, let alone continuous improvement. Then the quality of the company requirements, standards, norms, management system, we must implement!
