So far, although the function of the crosshairs is very simple, it is very important for multi-color printing plates that require registration.

Multi-functional crosshairs, as the name implies, is not only a function of proofreading registration, but indeed this crosshair can also be used for color management. According to the information of the crosshairs, not only can the deviation of the printing Plate position be measured, but also the density of the ink, the strength of the roller pressure, and the balance state of the left and right of the roller can be understood after measuring the CMYK line width. The degree of deviation can be informed of ink, wetting water, and blanket.

The emergence of multi-functional crosshairs was not the result of special research and development after the establishment of a certain subject as people imagined. On the contrary, it was developed under a rather accidental but inevitable situation.

Plate making and printing are two different departments. Therefore, when there is a problem with the registration, and the problem is not known, one party will complain that the plate is not done well, and the other party will complain about the printing problem. Tri-PMC consists of a CCD micro camera reading a crosshair as an image, the software displays an image measurement chart and a small printer outputs the measurement results.

This device is used to measure the line width of the crosshairs, the disparity of each CMY version based on the K version, and the brightness of each color ink.

It can be seen from the enlarged view of the crosshairs with a line width of 50 μm that the shape is more complicated than ordinary crosshairs. In fact, the most difficult to develop is the shape of the crosshairs. Because it not only reflects the information necessary for color management, but also looks pleasing to the eye.

From the change of the multifunctional crosshairs, you can know the state of the ink, wetting water, and blanket. So it can also be said that the crosshair is the diagnostician of the health of the machine.

After analyzing the accumulated offset and brightness measurement data, it can automatically judge, display the response method, or based on the measurement result, the machine automatically adjusts the ink volume and water volume. At the same time, a system that enables colors to be correctly restored.
