Several questions about the use of centrifuge The centrifuge is the core equipment for oil and fat refining. At present, most newly-built refineries use two self-cleaning and one non-self-cleaning centrifuges for the alkali refining process, which can easily reduce the crude oil acid value to about 0.10, and the separation effect is good. Feet are less oily. However, in the actual production, the centrifuge often runs out of oil, the current increases, and the separation is not clear. To deal with these problems, we first discuss the working principle of the centrifuge.
1 Working principle of the hub
The separation of the mixture is done in the hub. The following is the description of the separation of the mixture in the hub, see Figure 1.

The stream enters the bottom of the hub from 3, forms a thin layer on the disc, and separates the heavy phase material and the light phase material under the thin layer. The heavy phase material is pressed to the edge of the hub by centrifugal force, and is led out from the centripetal pump 6 to the heavy phase outlet. The light-phase substance is led out from the middle of the rotating hub to the oil outlet pipe through the centripetal pump 7. The solid impurities are pressed into the slag space 15 and are discharged from the spool during the slag discharge (the spool is open).
2 Principle of Rotary Hub Sealing The sealing of the rotating hub is done by the operating water system controlled by PLC. When the rotor reaches the rated speed, the water solenoid valve 12 is closed intermittently to open several times, and the water is closed into the lower space 3 of the sliding piston. Under water pressure, the sliding piston rises and presses the gasket 9, thereby sealing the rotor.
The piston valve 7 presses the gasket 8 under the action of centrifugal force to seal the closed water space 3, see FIG. 2.

During the slag discharge process of the rotor, the water solenoid valve 13 is opened, and the piston valve 7 is moved in the direction of the center of the rotor through the channel 5 to move the piston valve 7 to close the water center. Once closed, the water pressure drops. , The sliding piston falls, the hub opens, and solid impurities are discharged. After the slag discharge is completed, the solenoid valve l3 is closed, the solenoid valve l2 is opened, and the rotating hub is resealed, see FIG. 3.
3 Adjusting screw As can be seen at 26 in Figure 1, it is a centripetal pump with variable diameter, and the centripetal pump can be adjusted by adjusting the screw. It has two functions:

3.1 During the separation process, adjust the screw and change the diameter of the centripetal pump to achieve a better separation effect.
Regulation: the oil contains soap, increase the diameter of the centripetal pump. The soap contains oil, reducing the diameter of the centripetal pump.
3.2 Before the slag is discharged, after the solenoid valve controls the diameter of the centripetal pump to be smaller, the slag is automatically returned to the original value to reduce the oil loss during the slag.
In actual production, the separation effect of the centrifuge is not good. First, check the external conditions, such as: Is the oil too dirty? Is the amount of alkali added appropriate? Is the oil temperature appropriate? Is the oil-alkali mixture sufficient? Too low? Is the diameter of the centripetal pump appropriate? Etc.
Increased current always accompanies leakage of the hub. At this time, it is necessary to stop the oil supply, rinse the centrifuge with water, and perform manual slag discharge several times. If the hub still leaks, it must be shut down for inspection. The shims at 9, 7, 15, and 16 in Figure 2 need to be inspected.
