Corrugated cardboard and honeycomb cardboard

Corrugated paperboard and honeycomb paperboard are based on paper, and are two types of doors with different structures. Corrugated cardboard is a corrugated structure, divided into single corrugated cardboard, double corrugated cardboard and three corrugated corrugated cardboard, and was invented in 1856. At that time, corrugated paper was used to pack light bulbs. By 1920, double corrugated paperboard came out, with a speed of 6m/min and a width of 800mm. Now it has reached a speed of 350m/min and a width of 4500mm. It is a stand-alone, single-sided machine to the production line. Corrugated cardboard is used to make corrugated cartons for transport packaging and corrugated cartons for sale and packaging.
Honeycomb paperboard is an upright honeycomb structure. The paperboard is made of two layers of paper and an intermediate honeycomb paper core glued together. There is no sandwich. It is divided into metal honeycomb and non-metal honeycomb structure, metal honeycomb mainly refers to aluminum honeycomb, and non-metal honeycomb is mainly paper honeycomb. Honeycomb structure products appeared during the Second World War in the 1940s. Confucius only had an aluminum honeycomb sandwich structure for the lightweight parts of the radio.
In the 1950s, the United Kingdom first promoted cellular composite materials to civilian use and spread it to countries such as Europe and the United States. The Netherlands introduced the paper honeycomb core earlier. In the 1960s, China began to introduce honeycomb structure production technology and applied it to aviation and aerospace fields. In the 1990s, honeycomb paper products entered China, and people of insight took the lead in the development of honeycomb paperboard forming equipment with a machine speed of 12m/min, a range of 1600mm, and a thickness of 5mm. -4mm, honeycomb side length 6mm-12mm.
Honeycomb paperboard is another new type of packaging paperboard substrate after corrugated paperboard 100 years ago. Its birth was another revolution in paper packaging, which added a new member to the paper packaging family.
Then, can honeycomb paperboard completely replace corrugated cardboard? The answer is no. The main purpose is not the same. Paper packaging was originally packaged in sheet-fed paper and invented in the Tang Dynasty in China. It was used to package candy, porcelain, and medicine. It was then made of cardboard and fixed in a carton box containing jewelry, gold and silver jewelry, and then corrugated cardboard and corrugated boxes. Although its role is outstanding and the proportion of usage is large, paper and cardboard are not eliminated.
Honeycomb paperboard can only be used as part of the paper packaging family. For example, the maximum weight of a single corrugated box is 40kg, and the maximum overall size is 2000mm (sum of length, width and height); the maximum weight of double corrugated box is 55kg and the maximum overall size is 2500mm. The honeycomb carton far exceeds the weight limit of the “waist” box and can even prosper one or two tons of cargo. The maximum capacity size can be achieved for making honeycomb containers. However, it is not necessary or possible to completely replace corrugated cardboard. It is not conceivable to use honeycomb paperboard instead of corrugated cardboard boxes to form a large horse-drawn cart. It should be said that honeycomb paperboard and corrugated paperboard have their own advantages and disadvantages.
Second, they have different limitations. The pressure resistance of the honeycomb paperboard plane is several times to 20 times higher than double corrugated cardboard, and the puncture strength is not better than corrugated paperboard. The honeycomb paperboard core having a thickness of 10 mm has a slightly smaller or substantially equal amount of paper as the AB crucible.
The thicker the honeycomb paperboard, the larger the side length, the less the amount of paper used, but the thickness of the 5mmA type single-brick core paper is 1.53m2, and the same amount of the 5mm honeycomb paper is 1.8m2, which is more than the former. The speed of cardboard manufacturing varies widely. The corrugated board line is 350m/min, and the honeycomb paperboard line is 12m/min, which is one-thirtieth of the former. It can be seen that corrugated cardboard and honeycomb paperboard will exist side by side.
