The total imports from these three continents totaled 605,300 tons, accounting for 98.45%. Among them, 449,400 tons were imported from Asia, accounting for 73.09%, 102,000 tons from Europe, accounting for 16.03%, and 55,700 tons from North America, accounting for 9.06%. The total imports from Oceania, South America and Africa accounted for only 1.55%. The average unit price of imports from high to low was 755.90 in North America, 750.16 in Europe, 733.92 in Oceania, 701.58 in Asia, 544.76 in Africa, and US$516.52 per ton in South America.
The top five countries and regions in China's imports of coated paper in 2002 were 171,300 tons in Korea, accounting for 27.87%, Japan, 93,400 tons, accounting for 15.19%, and Indonesia, 64,400 tons. It accounted for 10.47%, China (outside processing of products, domestic products re-import) 60,600 tons, accounting for 9.86%, and the United States 50,400 tons, accounting for 8.20%. The average import unit price, the top five from the highest to the lowest in the order of the United States 772.73, Japan 771.27, Indonesia 727.03, South Korea 684.15 and China 659.91 US dollars / ton. Among the coated papers imported from China in 2002, there were 38,600 tons of light-weight coated paper, accounting for 3.17% of the total imported paper in China; the average import unit price was 885.80 US dollars/ton, an increase of 19.39% over the same period of last year.
