Tailored Lancome "Color Fever" Lipstick Package

Lancome's new "Color Fever" lip balm features a unique lid design. CROWN Risdon, the company responsible for this packaging, uses the latest semi-plating process to create a translucent, semi-metallic lipstick cover.

"Color Fever" lipsticks are manufactured using a unique manufacturing process that is very geometrical. Both sides of the rectangular lid are transparently treated as if they were two windows through which the contents of the package can be seen directly. This appearance effect is achieved by a double injection molding technique. This technique utilizes the different reactions of two different plastic materials under plating. The cover is first electroplated to give the surface a shiny copper-bronze color; then the surface is decorated with a hot foil to give off the light of the metal; an ultraviolet light varnish is then applied to prevent the surface from oxidizing and discoloring. The outline of the package's base is clear, and this effect is also achieved using double injection molding technology. The color of the base is the same color as the lid and plating. In this way, the overall package looks very elegant and of high quality.
