Insulator equivalent salt density measurement method

Definition of the equivalent salt density of the insulator: the soluble salt equivalent in the contamination attached to the surface of the insulator is the distribution density of the mass of NaCl, and the unit is mg / cm2 (mg / cm2).
Complete test procedure (take YM3200 direct-reading salt densitometer as an example)
1. Sampling
Use a special wet gauze or absorbent cotton to wipe the surface of the insulator. Each insulator is generally wiped 2-3 times, based on the principle that the surface of the insulator is clean. Place the sampled gauze or absorbent cotton in deionized water.
prompt:
(a) When the insulator string is not removed, but the wiped insulator can be put into the self-sealing bag when the power is cut off to ensure that the solution will not be lost. Dissolve the sample after returning to the studio.
(b) When the insulator string has been removed, please be careful not to sample the first piece of the top and the bottom piece of the insulator, because in the process of removing the insulator string from the high-voltage tower, the surface of the two insulators Pollution is easily destroyed and may affect the measurement results.
2. Dissolve
Solvent: It is recommended to use deionized water or distilled water, unconditional can also use ordinary tap water. But the water with conductivity less than 100us / cm is suitable.
Dosage: The water consumption of each piece of standard ordinary insulator is 300ml. However, when the surface area of the tested insulator is different from that of the ordinary insulator, you can refer to the following table to increase or decrease the water consumption in proportion to the surface area of the insulator.
Relationship table between insulator surface area and water consumption for salt density measurement

Insulator surface area (cm²)
≤1500
1500 ~ 2000
2000 ~ 2500
2500 ~ 3000
Water consumption (ml)

600
Immerse the sampling gauze or absorbent cotton in the configured solvent.
3. Measurement
First measurement: Test the conductivity of the current solvent, and set the conductivity to the reference value (see the function description for details); subsequent measurement results will automatically subtract this reference value, which is beneficial to improve the measurement accuracy and reduce the requirements for the solvent. This step must be performed before placing the sampling gauze.
Measure again: Use the above wet gauze or filter paper to wipe off the dirt on the surface of the insulator, and then put it into the water. Immerse the electrode in the solution to be measured, gently stir the solution to be tested with the electrode, and stabilize for a period of time (approximately 2 minutes) to read the measurement results of conductivity, salt density, and temperature.
After the test, you can print and save the result.
