3D printing remote control racing cool to no friends

Compared with traditional industries, the biggest feature of 3D printing technology is the high degree of freedom. No matter how complex the shape of the object is, even the simplest FDM desktop 3D printer can be manufactured with the corresponding 3D digital model. Many creators and designers have benefited from this, and senior remote-controlled car enthusiast Jakub Ratajczyk is one of them.

Recently, the graduating college student used his 3D printing technology and his knowledge of robotics, programming and electronics in his graduation project to create a complex and futuristic remote-controlled racing car.

Ratajczyk said his main hobbies are design and 3D printing, and decades of experience in 3D modeling have become the key to his design of this remote-controlled car.

It is understood that the body of this seemingly cool remote control car consists of six parts, each part is printed with a layer thickness of 0.15mm using a Zmorph single heating head 1.75mm extruder. After the printing was completed, Ratajczyk spent several hours polishing and polishing them until the surface appeared smooth enough to stick them together with super glue. For the sake of beauty, he also sprayed black paint on the outer shell of the car. At this point, this future versatile remote control car is completely completed.

It is worth mentioning that Ratajczyk uses Voxelizer, a proprietary software that is compatible with all open source RepRap-style 3D printers , when manufacturing the 3D printing components required for remote-controlled cars. The software is a 3D printing management software independently developed by ZMorph, a Polish 3D printer manufacturer, last year. It is very powerful in processing and manufacturing equipment such as CNC machine tools and many other types of extruders.

When the software successfully controls the 3D printer, it can convert 3D geometry to G code in a special way. Unlike traditional files based on triangle meshes such as STL or OBJ, Voxelizer generates a file format voxels (three-dimensional pixels), which can also be called a voxel model. It can not only record the surface information of an object, but also describe its internal properties.

Comments: With the rapid development and rapid popularization of 3D printing technology, in the near future, such independent design works will surely become more and more, bringing more exciting to our lives.
